• Hastings High School is excited to announce auditions for our upcoming all-county production of Hairspray!  Here is the link to the story in the Journal News (lohud), by Peter Kramer about our upcoming production.

There are many reasons why this particular musical is a favorite among musical theater fans.  Director Laurie Walton sees the show as the perfect combination of pure entertainment and great depth.

At a time when our country is struggling with divisiveness, it is heartwarming to find a musical that can spread joy through infectious song and dance, yet still provide profound commentary on these important themes:  acceptance,  positive self-image, celebration of strong women, deep family ties and, most importantly, an insight into the history of the Civil Rights movement and the importance of integration in our country in the 1960s.

Our production of Hairspray is made possible through a grant that Hastings High School was awarded last year by NBC, and the television show RISE.  One of two New York schools to be selected for this honor, we are looking forward to a project that will involve teenagers from all over the area .

Auditions will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, October 22, 23 & 24 from 4:00-6:30 at Hastings High School,
    1 Mt. Hope Blvd. Hastings-On-Hudson, 10706.

Please prepare a short selection from Hairspray that shows your unique personality and talent!

    Callbacks are TBA.
    Show dates are February 1, 2 & 3
