Yellowjacket Sports Schedule:Hastings Athletics Philosophy
Interscholastic athletics can be a valuable component of a student's educational experience in Hastings. Through the promotion of self discipline, dedication, sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and commitment to achievement, athletics fosters many of the qualities and educational values we endorse as a district. Interscholastic competition is a forum through which students may push themselves and their limitations, allowing them to develop self confidence and enhance their self-esteem.Over 50% of the Hastings School District student body participates on one or more teams during the course of the school year. Involvement in structured physical activities has proven to help students learn how to manage their time. Acquiring time management skills can lead to the development of mature and responsible adults. The Hastings coaching staff is a stong combination of young energetic coaches, and well seasoned veterans who work tirelessly to provide the best possible experiences for our student athletes.Let us support all athletes and opponents, and make the Hastings environment one that exudes competition and sportsmanship.
