• Dear Hastings Community,

On Sunday, June 7, 2020 Governor Cuomo issued Executive Order 202.39, which extended the deadline for the receipt of mailed absentee ballots for the school budget vote/school board election until June 16, 2020 at 5 PM. Executive Order 202.39 also states that no hand delivered ballots may be accepted by the District Clerk later than 5 PM on June 9, 2020. The Hastings community may drop off their ballots only on Tuesday, June 9, between 9 AM and 5 PM at the main entrance to Hastings High School, One Mount Hope Blvd., Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.

Finally, it states that any ballots contained within the District’s locked ballot box “shall remain unopened pending delivery of mailed ballots, and shall be removed and canvassed after 5 PM on June 16, 2020”.  Accordingly, based upon the Executive Order, the opening and counting of oath/ballot envelopes with absentee ballots sealed therein is postponed until after 5PM on June 16, 2020.

The opening and canvassing of ballots will be shown live on the District’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/hohschools beginning at 5 PM on June 16, 2020.

Please note, that after June 9, 2020 no further ballots will be issued to the registered voters.

    In summation:

    ·        Ballots may be dropped off in the secure lockbox at Hastings High School, One Mount Hope Blvd., between 9AM and 5:00 PM on Tuesday, June 9th.

    ·        After that time, ballots may only be received by U.S. Mail until 5 PM on Tuesday, June 16th.

    Sincerely,

    Hastings-on-Hudson UFSD
