Academic Challenge Team Takes First Place in MACC Tournament
This past Saturday, November 10, the HHS Academic Challenge Team comprised of Kate Lesser, Atri Ray, Noah Broude (captain), and Jacob Prisament placed first in the MACC -- Metropolitan Academic Challenge Conference tournament. Questions from Questions Unlimited are used for the academic challenge meet. The tournament consists of three rounds of preliminary play in both Varsity and JV divisions, after which the top four teams in each division participate in single elimination playoffs.
The team received a plaque and a check for $50.
It is worthy to note that the Hastings Academic Challenge Team has won the National Academic Challenge Championship in the Small School Division consecutively for the last two years. This year’s faculty advisor is Mr. Michael Wilson.
