Dear Hastings Families & Staff: 

After a highly competitive search process, I am pleased to announce that the Board of Education at its June 20 meeting unanimously appointed Scott Wynne as Interim Principal for Farragut Middle School, effective July 1, 2023.

Mr. Wynne brings more than 20 years of experience serving in various educational and administrative roles in Westchester County. Most recently, as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the Eastchester School District, he spearheaded the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instructional services. Mr. Wynne was promoted to this position after serving for several years as Eastchester Middle School’s Principal and Assistant Principal. 

Throughout his tenure, he has been an integral part of other district-wide areas, including personnel, facilities, school safety and security, emergency response planning, infrastructure, instructional technology, and policy development.

The well-known, rigorous academic dedication of the FMS staff and students, combined with their social-emotional prowess, makes this an extremely exciting opportunity. When paired with the strong values and whole child philosophy of the Hastings community, I am energized to build upon the great opportunities already in place at FMS to foster an even more enriching experience for the students of Hastings.” 

Based on his academic and organizational expertise, as well as his keen sense and enthusiasm for middle school students, we are confident Mr. Wynne will lead FMS to the next level of excellence for students, staff and families in a clear and collaborative manner. The Advisory Committee, which met with four semi-finalists, rated Mr. Wynne as an exceptional match for Hastings and FMS.

We will be scheduling a series of introductory gatherings for Mr. Wynne as we move toward the start of school in the fall. In the meantime, please join me in welcoming Mr. Wynne to the Hastings Schools community.
